Capsule Value Kanda

Tokyo, Japan

This house was chosen in place of a Nakano address of the same chain that could not be confirmed in published sources, and it is the Kanda house of Capsule Value in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Berths are moulded units stacked in two tiers along the sleeping floors, each closed with a blind rather than a door. Published material states that the house takes male guests only.

The arrangement is plain and worked out for short stays. Baggage goes into lockers away from the sleeping floors, and washing, showers and a bathing room are shared. Vending machines and a common room hold the space between, and the desk is staffed through the night. The berths themselves carry a light, a socket and a small screen.

The address sits in Kanda, an older working quarter of offices and small eating houses on the north side of the centre. Kanda station is a few minutes on foot and puts the house on the loop line, with the district around it quiet once the offices empty.
